choosing to guard

choosing to guard

(note to self)

Carefully consider who you allow to see your shied down - who you are willing to lose your soberness, and violently sharp thinking. Not necessarily to protect your softness or insecurities, but to be weary of your leaning into them and for the mental space you may inherently have to share with them. This discretion not only applies to humans, but of practices and interests as well - getting lost working on a website, getting lost in watching a show, eating, spanning myself too thin for too many events. I’ve come to see myself valuing firm grasp of mind and intention, rather than allowing persuasive movement of overflowing thought to ruin said grip.

Let consciousness and deliberate choice dictate your character to allow it to match your true desires and intentions. Carefully and consider the energy of others to potentially interrupt the intensity you desire to uphold.

Writing this Feb 2, 2024, with a revitalized recognition of intensity and clairvoyance to the transformative power of continuous, slow movement.
