What does it mean to host a community space

A space that stands unique above the rest, is hard to distinguish

• place for under-represented artists? great, but seemingly heavily done
  
• place for learners unsure of themselves? no
  
• place for creatives without a serious space to find a place that removes benefit of the doubt out of the equation
  
• place for belonging just for the sake of belonging? no

And if an art space

• place that questions societal norms? no
  
• just another gallery? definitely not

And if a library

• a place for all kinds of learning? just another library
  
• a place that questions time in relation to all things learning?

A place for serious approaches to learning, art, expression, that does not cater to the performance of things but those looking for true generational impact, those looking for greatness, those looking for serious change, those looking for anti-meta systems. For all things great start with the vision to be great, no matter the laughing, the pointing, the uncertainty. A desire to be great must be met with no excuses.

Are you looking to just stand out in the short term? For one attainable goal? For one mission clearly identifiable and in sight? Or are you looking to be great beyond that next job, that next gig, that next installation. Question your motives, question what impact you’re looking to make, question why things matter to you, and take time to learn why these things are so, who else has made these connections, and look for where innovation can be made next. For what is quickly learned, is soon forgotten.

We look, undivided from question, creative expression, and connection, to bring together moments from the marginalized, not to bring them to the norm, or to the mainstream light, but to show a collective ear and respect to these stories, lessons, perspectives, and to simply guide the connected between all stories through archival and cataloging practices.
