The Artist’s Choice
…ultimately a test of morality, an artist’s job first and foremost is to believe in their expression.
What can exist as satire for one, exists as true aura for another. Is it genuine? Is it true? Dare ask, is it necessary? As simply another thought share-r, a late-bloomer, a man in front of a keyboard, actively just re-discovering which art has been associated with my name, how am I to say these things?
It has been revealed to me now, the feeling of urgency and requirement for art to be made for expression’s sake. The clarity of the identity that expression holds can truly only be confirmed by here-say, intuition, by feeling. And yet, some live or die according to these convictions. Art is truly intertwined with spirituality, a belief and faith in the unseen and intangible. A true artist’s test is against one’s self, and a true artist’s make is a test of morality — is the expression true, and right?
In the blur of shades that pass by, it comes upon me once again to examine and comment on my observance, and my concluded removal from these shades at this moment in time; a re-introduction to this feeling of justice and righteousness to serve my own spirit.
Tomorrow may come to award me with a shortage in connection with these thoughts. A statement of faith, to emphasize the discipline of mind that must come first and foremost to those who wish to express. May my art be moral, may my art be true.
